So apparently, females of any species (including humans!) are tastier meat than males. Something to do with fat ratios.

Also, rape is ridiculously common in the animal world. It's ALSO common for males to go out of their way to make sexual activity unpleasant for females so they won't have offspring with anyone else.

Excuse me while I curl up in a ball and cry. Someone prove me wrong.

I don't know if it's true in the animal world, but I do know that the insect world is dominated by females. Ants and bees are a matriarchal society, where everyone is female except for the few winged males who exist to breed and die. There's also praying mantises and spiders (they're arachnids, but still), who can eat their husbands (and for mantises, their own children, so that they don't starve).

Eh...SOME types of insects are ruled by the females. Others do things that would be horribly misogynistic if they were done by humans :/

You are right about spiders, anyway--though I'm not sure if that's true of all spiders.

But still, the idea that I'm better to kill and eat than a man just because I'm female is depressing as hell :(

I also forgot to mention hyenas. The lowest ranked female is more powerful than the highest ranked male. :o

Lionesses also tend to travel in packs and do all the the hunting, with only one male per pack. I can't remember if the male is the leader or not, but I do know there is a one-male-limit per pack.
