So today after delivering the most grueling presentation I have ever given in my entire life (it was a group presentation that had to be coordinated between more than nine people, twenty minutes in length, and presented before a panel that then took another forty-five minutes or so to ask us questions!) for my environmental studies capstone, I received an email from the professors who told us that they were just so pleased with how it went and how we really felt like a team and our enthusiasm really showed through! As someone who notoriously hates everything having to do with group projects I have never felt happier to be in this class than right now!

Current Mood: jubilant

It's probably the first time I've taken any sort of class designed to teach me how to tell stories (I'm almost completely self-taught when it comes to creative writing). And, if you couldn't guess, one requirement is that you actually tell stories to the other people in the class. So next week I'll be performing a dramatic reading of the infamous Tailypo story--for a class! XO

(For those of you not in the know, the Tailypo story is an American folktale about some guy in the woods who cuts off the tail of a strange creature who enters his home and eats it for some reason. The entire rest of the story is the creature hassling him throughout the night asking for his "tailypo"--yeah. I used to hear it all the time around Halloween when I was a child, so this is something of a blast from the past for me)
