Liking unpopular characters sucks....

Okay, I'm watching an anime with a large cast of motley, diverse, beautifully-rendered characters, who develop in all manner of cool ways.

So why in the hell did I have to latch onto the one character whom nobody likes or cares about, either in or out of universe?!
